Brandon Nydick is currently a senior at Stanford University. He has been a competitive chess player since the age of six and was ranked in the top 10 for his age in the USA from 2009-2020. He has represented the USA in the World Youth Chess Championships and Pan American Chess Championships on multiple occasions. He found the experiences to be amazing and wanted to help make it possible for more top players to attend these tournaments. He is a national master with a peak USCF rating of 2351 and has taught chess for over 5 years.
GM Varuzhan Akobian is a renowned grandmaster, coach, commentator, and chess streamer. He is ranked in FIDE's list of the top 100 players in the world and has reached a peak USCF rating of 2758 and FIDE of 2653. He has placed highly in numerous notable tournaments, including the U.S. Chess Championships, World Cup, and multiple Chess Olympiads. He also coached the U.S. Olympic team at the 39th Chess Olympiad in Russia.
Marcus Maireina is an expert chess player and well known coach with decades of experience in helping train young chess players from their first moves to mastery. Marcus is the Head Coach at the Collegiate School in New York City. His love for the game is infectious and has led him to develop a cult-like following. He has coached multiple teams and individuals that have won national championship titles. Like Brandon and Var, he is passionate about empowering the United States' best youth chess stars.
